The Fight for the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay

The Siege and Battle of Spanish Fort was a key Civil War engagement fought as Union forces drove up the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. 
Battery or Fort McDermott occupies the highest point in the Confederate lines at Spanish Fort, Alabama. It is the best-preserved spot on the battlefield.
